Herding Cats was formed in 2009 and got its name from the difficulties Alan and John experienced in actually getting a roomful of paid actors together at the same time. "It's like herding bloody cats" they agreed. Even though all ended very happily the name has stuck and has become synonymous with high production values and customer service in Perths burgeoning film industry.

In late 2010 and 2011 equipment hire has been added to the range of services offered by HCP. Using quality Arri lighting coupled with brand new Rode and Tascam sound gear the hire business is available with or without technicians. A service not always available or as affordable from other sources as HCP can make it.

The equipment is all less than twelve months old and ensures that you will always get the best of results.

John Bailey is the tech head in HCP Film and his passion is lighting and clean sound. Whatever the conditions you find John creating the best possible quality lightscape for the director's vision.
John has several feature films and numerous short films and commercials in his credits. His attention to detail and crisp lighting styles have earned him praise from his peers and the viewers.

Alan Malcolm is well known in the Perth industry as an accomplished witer, actor and Director. Alan made the transition from stage to screen some years ago and brings a wealth of experience to HCP Film. Alan is a Professional writer, a full member of the Australian Writers Guild, The Australian Film Institute and a long term member of Actors Equity. He has appeared in several TV series, over seventy short films and numerous features. Concentrating on his main loves of writing and Foley effects you can be sure that a wealth of knowledge backs his every job.

John and Alan utilise their wide network of contacts and know specialists in almost every field of film and film making. Whatever the expertise you need, HCP Film are  sure to be able to meet it!
